Advance Dining Reservations
What are ADR’s you ask? They are Disney’s version of reservations. You can make ADR’s for most restaurants 180 days prior to your trip. If you are planning on eating at most of the quality table service restaurants, it is a must to make your ADR’s that far ahead. Having ADR’s set before you get to Walt Disney World will definitely make your vacation run more smoothly. How do you make ADR’s? At 180 days prior to your trip, you call Disney Dining (1-407-WDW DINE) and request a dining reservation for whatever restaurant you want, give them the date and time. That’s it. They will tell you immediately if they have something available. If they do, you will receive a confirmation number and time to arrive. If they do not have anything available you can try another restaurant, or call back in a few days as people may cancel their reservations.
Keep in mind that unlike a tradition reservation, Disney will seat you when the next available table opens for a party your size. Just because you have an ADR for 5:00 PM doesn’t mean that you will get seated at 5:00 PM. Most of the time Disney is very good and efficient in getting people to their tables as close to their time as possible. It is strongly advised to show up at least fifteen minutes prior to your ADR time.
The mistake so many people make is thinking that they can walk right up to a restaurant and get a table. During the peak seasons this almost never happens and the look of disbelief on peoples’ faces is priceless. Everyone wants to enjoy Disney and the eating choices are bountiful. There are so many unique food samplings to choose from here that planning your dining is almost as fun as planning your vacation. There is something here for everyone in your family.
