Disney is All Ears for ESPN
By admin | May 13, 2008
The Disney Co. said today it would bring one of its major divisions to the forefront with plans to rebrand Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex with the ESPN trademark. According to Disney, initial plans involve renaming the sports complex and incorporating the signature elements of ESPN throughout the 220-acre facility. Disney also said the rebranding would “provide advertisers new sponsorship opportunities at the grass roots level.” Among the companies that already have marketing presence at the complex are Alamo, Champion, Izod, Sharpie, Hess and the National Dairy Association. The complex, which opened in March 1997, is located near an ESPN Zone restaurant.
